Higashinomiya Tomb - Higashinomiya Kofun

Japanese: 東之宮古墳 - ひがしのみやこふん

This keyhole-shaped tomb is located in Hakusan-daira, Inuyama-cho, Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture. It was built facing northwest on the top of the Aigi Hills, which run along the east bank of the Kiso River, which forms the border between Aichi and Gifu prefectures, and overlooks the Nobi Plain below. It measures 78m in total length, 47m on each side of the rear section, and 43m wide at the front. Two burial facilities can be confirmed at the rear and one at the front, both of which are parallel to the main axis of the tumulus. One of the burial facilities at the rear had been looted, so in 1973 Hisanaga Haruo and others excavated it and discovered a mirror, jade magatama (curved jewel), jasper tube beads (kudatama), jasper bracelets, stone bowls, swords, spears, agricultural tools, and other items from the pit-type stone chamber.

愛知県犬山市犬山町白山平に所在する前方後方墳。愛知，岐阜の県境をなす木曾川の東岸に沿ってのびる愛岐丘陵の頂部に，北西面して築かれ，眼下に濃尾平野をのぞむ。全長78m，後方部の1辺47m，前方部幅43mを測る。後方部に2基，前方部に1基の埋葬施設が確認できる。いずれも古墳の主軸に平行する。このうち後方部の1基が盗掘されたために，1973年久永春男らがこれを発掘調査して，竪穴式石室から鏡，硬玉勾玉（まがたま），碧玉管玉（くだたま），碧玉製腕飾類，石製合子（ごうす），刀剣，槍，農工具類などを検出した。
