This industry manufactures products that record and play back sound and voice, such as radios, tape recorders, stereos (stereo sets and components), and peripheral devices (televisions and video tape recorders also produce sound, but are not included in audio equipment because they are primarily for video), and plays a part in the home appliance industry. The production value of audio equipment (also called audio equipment) accounts for just under 20% of the total production value of home appliances (as of the early 1980s).
