Japanese: 石見[町] - いわみ

A former town in Ochi County, central Shimane Prefecture. The main settlement, Yagami, was the site of tatara ironworks during the feudal era. It is known as a producer of Yagami rice, but has a small amount of cultivated land. The Yagami River has the Dan'yokei Gorge (a scenic spot) with many waterfalls and pools, and the Hachinohe River has the Senjodani Gorge (a scenic spot). In October 2004, it merged with Mizuho Town and Usumi Village in Ochi County to become a town, Onan Town. 137.36 ^km2 . 6,467 people (2003).

島根県中部，邑智(おおち)郡の旧町。主集落の矢上は藩政時代たたら製鉄地であった。矢上米の産地として知られるが，耕地面積が少ない。矢上川に滝と淵の多い断魚渓（名勝），八戸(やと)川に千丈渓(せんじょうだに)（名勝）がある。2004年10月邑智郡瑞穂町，羽須美村と合併し町制，邑南町となる。137.36km²。6467人（2003）。
