Kabuki actor. There are four generations to date, but the career of the first Ichikawa who became Hidecho in 1854 (Ansei 1) is unknown. (1) The second (1848-1901, Kaei 1-Meiji 34) The son of a sumo wrestler, he made his debut under the name of Ichikawa Yonemaru when Ichikawa Kodanji IV came to Nagoya. In 1873 he moved to Tokyo and became a disciple of Morita Kan'ya 12, changing his name to Bando Shucho, and in 1884 he became Hidecho II. 歌舞伎俳優。現在まで4世代あるが1854年(安政1)に秀調となったという初世についての経歴は不詳。(1)2世(1848‐1901∥嘉永1‐明治34) 力士の子で4世市川小団次が名古屋へ来演した際市川米丸の名で初舞台をふんだという。1873年に東京へ出て12世守田勘弥の門に入り坂東しう調と改名,さらに84年2世秀調となった。女方として9世市川団十郎,初世市川左団次らの相手役をつとめ,世話女房役にことに優れた。
