Yamabe [town] - Yamanobe
A town in Higashimurayama County, central Yamagata Prefecture. Its center is Yamabe in the southwest of the Yamagata Basin. It developed as a castle town, and the Aterazawa Line runs through it. In the past, it produced a lot of mosquito nets, but now the textile industry is thriving, especially carpets, which are also exported overseas. Area: 61.45 km2 . Population: 15,139 (2010).

山形県中部，東村山郡の町。中心は山形盆地南西部の山辺で，城下町として発達，左沢(あてらざわ)線が通じる。古くは蚊帳(かや)の生産が多かったが，現在は繊維産業が盛んで，特にじゅうたんの生産が多く，海外へも輸出する。61.45km2。１万5139人（2010）。
