A protochordate of the Ascidian family, family Ascididae. It is found in areas from the Pacific coast of Honshu to the Philippines, where it attaches to the undersides of rocks. Its breast-like projections, each about 2 cm in diameter, come together to form a large, thick, fleshy mass. It is reddish orange in color, and the exit openings at the tip of each projection are bordered in white.
