A procession with a spectacle element. It is often accompanied by singing, music, dancing, and other elements, and involves parades of floats, foot, or horseback. From ancient times to the present, in both the East and the West, there are many different types of processions, including those related to religious festivals, those displaying military might such as triumphal marches and military parades, those related to beauty contests and sports, and those of a commercial nature.
