Japanese: マチスモ

It refers to male dominance in mestizo society in Latin America, and represents a way of life and values that value masculinity. Macho is a Spanish word meaning male. It is thought that the tendency to value men who carry family and social honor as masculine, which is common in the European Mediterranean world, entered Latin America through Spain and took root there. It was emphasized as a contrast to the Anglo values of North America, which are based on the principle of gender equality.
