This concrete road bridge spans Imakiriguchi, where Lake Hamana connects to the Enshu Nada Sea. It is located almost in the center of the Hamana Bypass, an expressway on National Route 1. The bridge is 630m long and has a prestressed concrete girder structure with five continuous spans, with its central span of 240m being the longest of its type in the world for some time after its completion in 1976. The piers and girders are an integrated structure, and a hinge is installed in the middle of the central span to prevent excessive force being applied to the girders. 浜名湖が遠州灘に通ずる今切口をまたぐコンクリート道路橋。国道1号の自動車専用道路浜名バイパスのほぼ中央に位置する。橋長630m,5径間にわたって連続するプレストレストコンクリート桁構造で,その中央径間長240mは,1976年完成後しばらくの間この形式の橋として世界最長を誇っていた。橋脚と桁は一体構造となっており,中央径間の中央にはヒンジを設けて,桁に無理な力がかからないようにしている。桁は箱形断面で,もっとも背の高い中央径間橋脚上では厚さ13.7mと巨大。
