The nickname given to the committee in the United States Congress, chaired by Representative Wright Patman of Texas. The Patman Committee has been established twice, and each has issued a notable report. The first was the report entitled "Monetary Policy and Public Debt Control" by the Subcommittee on General Credit Control and Public Debt Control, which was established in 1953 as part of the Joint Committee on Economic Affairs of both Houses of Congress. The report was a clash between the Department of the Treasury and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System over the initial policy of supporting government bond prices after World War II.

テキサス州選出のパットマンWright Patman下院議員を委員長とするアメリカ議会内の委員会に対する通称。パットマン委員会は2回設置されているが，それぞれ著名な報告書を発表している。第1は，経済報告に関する両院合同経済委員会のなかに1953年設けられた一般信用統制と国債管理に関する小委員会の〈金融政策と公債管理〉と題する報告書である。第2次大戦後の初期国債価格支持政策をめぐって，財務省と連邦準備制度理事会とが対立した。
