Illinois is a state in the Midwestern United States. It is located on the plains southwest of Lake Michigan, and is the basin of the Mississippi River and the Illinois River. It is blessed with railroad and air networks, and is connected to the Atlantic Ocean by the St. Lawrence River system. Taking advantage of its geographical location, it is one of the leading agricultural and industrial states in the United States. Various industries such as food processing, machinery, metals, chemicals, and oil refining are carried out around Chicago, and it produces coal and petroleum. In terms of agriculture, it is one of the largest producers of soybeans and corn in the country.
