Towel - taoru (English spelling) towel

Japanese: タオル - たおる(英語表記)towel
Towel - taoru (English spelling) towel

The word "toalla" comes from the Spanish word toalla, which means a bathcloth. Bathcloths include glass towelling, huckaback towelling, and honeycomb towelling, so these are sometimes called Turkish towels when we limit the word to terry cloth towels. The weaving technique has a ring of nap on one or both sides of the cloth, and it is a type of piled fabric. This type of weaving technique has been around for a long time and can be seen in Coptic and pre-Inca fabrics, but it became popular after silk fabrics appeared in France in 1811. Currently, most towels are made of cotton, but synthetic fibers are becoming more common. The pile makes them highly absorbent and breathable, and they are often used for hand towels, and those woven as toweling are used for bath robes, nightwear, beachwear, and summer blankets (towel blankets).
