Kawasaki Daiji

Japanese: 川崎大治 - かわさきだいじ

1902-1980 A children's writer from the Showa era.
Born on March 29, 1902. He participated in the New Children's Story Writers Association, and also contributed to the proletarian daycare center movement. In 1931, he published a collection of proletarian children's songs, "Little Comrades," with Makimoto Kusuro and others. He later turned to children's stories about daily life, and published a collection of children's stories, "Children Surrounded by the Sun," among others. After the war, he participated in the founding of the Japan Association of Children's Literature Writers. He passed away on August 8, 1980, at the age of 78. He was born in Hokkaido and graduated from Waseda University. His real name was Ikeda Masakazu.

明治35年3月29日生まれ。新興童話作家連盟に参加,また無産者託児所運動などにつくす。昭和6年槙本楠郎(まきもと-くすろう)らとプロレタリア童謡集「小さい同志」を出版。のち生活童話に転じ,童話集「太陽をかこむ子供たち」などを発表。戦後,日本児童文学者協会の創立に参加。昭和55年8月8日死去。78歳。北海道出身。早大卒。本名は池田政一。
