A floating fishing net with a dense center and wider outside, shaped like a furoshiki cloth. It is also written as "Hataami." It is a multi-rod net, an expanded version of a pole-holding net, with the medium-sized net measuring about 9m. This net is used on rocky beaches about 40m deep, and is caught by using a propeller, bait, and bonfires to lure schools of fish onto the net. The catch is mainly sardines, horse mackerel, bluefin tuna, and mackerel. The fishing method involves laying the net in the sea in the shape of a sail, following the tide, and when a school of fish comes over the net, the tow rope is pulled to narrow it, and the fish are caught with a dip net.
