A former town in Nakajima-gun, northwest Aichi Prefecture. Located in the Nobi Plain on the east bank of the Kiso River, the town cultivates rice, vegetables, and flowers. Its specialty products are plants and seedlings. It is also part of the Bisai woolen textile industrial area. The Meitetsu Bisai Line runs through the town. 愛知県北西部,中島郡の旧町。木曾川東岸の濃尾平野にあり米のほか野菜,花卉(かき)の栽培を行う。植木,苗木を特産。尾西(びさい)毛織物工業地域の一部でもある。名鉄尾西線が通じる。2005年4月中島郡平和町と稲沢市へ編入。22.12km2。2万3047人(2003)。
