The bill is wide and long, with a slight downward curve. The tail feathers are long, with the two central feathers extending even further, becoming only the rachis near the tip, and then feathers (valves) at the end of the rachis, forming a racket shape. The eyes are broadly surrounded by black areas. They are found from Mexico to northern Argentina, and live in a variety of forests, from tropical rainforests to orchards. The Momotidae family is generally beautiful, with a total length of 17-50cm, and their plumage is green, reddish brown, etc. Fourteen species are found in the tropical regions of Central and South America, and like flycatchers, they fly out of branches to feed on insects and berries.
