Hase [village] - Hase

Japanese: 長谷[村] - はせ

A village in Kamiina County, southeastern Nagano Prefecture. Population 2,314 (1995). Located in the upper and middle reaches of the Mibu River, a tributary of the Tenryu River, and bordering Yamanashi Prefecture to the east. Located on the northwest slope of the Akaishi Mountains, the village is almost entirely covered by forests and fields, with a small amount of cultivated land in the Mibu River basin and scattered settlements. Agriculture and forestry are carried out, mainly rice cultivation and livestock farming, and freshwater fish such as rainbow trout are also cultivated. The eastern mountain area, with its towering peaks such as Kaikoma-ga-take and Senjo-ga-take, belongs to the Southern Alps National Park, and the Southern Alps Super Forest Road was opened in 1979.

長野県南東部，上伊那郡の村。人口2314(1995)。天竜川支流の三峰（みぶ）川上･中流域に位置し，東は山梨県に接する。赤石山脈北西斜面にあって，村のほぼ全域が山林･原野で占められ，三峰川流域にわずかに耕地が開かれ，集落が点在する。米作，畜産などを中心に農林業が営まれるほか，ニジマスなどの淡水魚の養殖も行われている。甲斐駒ヶ岳，仙丈ヶ岳などの高峰がそびえる東部山岳地帯は南アルプス国立公園に属し，1979年には南アルプススーパー林道が開通した。
