Bhaskara [II] - Bhaskara
Indian mathematician and astronomer. He developed algebra using symbols, and recognized that there are two square roots of positive numbers, positive and negative, and that the square root of negative numbers does not exist. He also gave a proof of the Pythagorean theorem.
