〘Noun〙 A type of folk song. It is a song sung in the entertainment district of Hakata, and there are two types: "Dokkoisho" and "Seichou Hakatabushi." Neither is of pure Hakata origin. "Dokkoisho" has the words "dokkoisho" in the song and the accompaniment words "Hai koya wa" at the end. It was brought from the Iwami region of Sanin around 1887. "Seichou Hakatabushi" began to be sung in the Taisho era as a parody of a danuta (traditional Japanese song) called "Tengu-sama" that was sung around Shimonoseki.
