Peasant Revolt - Nouminhanran

Throughout history, there are many cases in which peasants rose up against the existing social order or the oppression of the ruling class. In ancient times, these often took the form of slave revolts (slaves), while in modern capitalist societies they are considered separately as peasant movements alongside labor movements, so in the case of Europe, this article focuses on peasant uprisings in traditional societies of the Middle Ages and early modern times. Marc Bloch has stated that "just as strikes are an inevitable part of large capitalist companies, feudal lordships and peasant uprisings are inseparably linked," but as can be seen in the peasant uprisings of Japanese history, peasant uprisings were deeply connected to the social structure of the time, and, along with urban unrest, were a typical form of popular movement of the time.

歴史上，農民が既存の社会秩序や支配層による圧制に対抗して蜂起した事例は数多い。古代のそれは奴隷反乱の形をとることが多く(奴隷)，近代資本主義社会のそれは，労働運動と並ぶ農民運動として別個に考察の対象となるので，ヨーロッパの場合は中世，近世の伝統的社会における農民蜂起を中心に取り上げる。マルク･ブロックは，〈資本主義的大企業にはストライキが付物であるように，領主制と農民蜂起は切っても切れない関係にある〉と述べているが，日本史の百姓一揆にも見られるとおり，農民蜂起は当時の社会の構造と深く結びついており，都市民衆の騒擾と並んで，この時代の民衆運動の代表的な形態であった。
