Bladder worm

Japanese: 囊虫 - のうちゅう（英語表記）bladder worm

Also called cysticercus or cysticercus. The larvae of tapeworms such as Taenia solium (cattle tapeworm) and Taenia solium (pigs tapeworm). They are about the size of a pea. They are the result of the development and metamorphosis of the previous stage of larvae, the hookworms (also called onchosphaera), in the bodies of intermediate hosts such as cattle and pigs. When cattle or pigs ingest the eggs of these tapeworms, the hookworms escape the eggshell in the small intestine, invade the intestinal wall, and migrate to the muscles.

囊尾虫またはキスチケルクスcysticercusともいう。ジョウチュウ類のうちのムコウジョウチュウ(無鉤条虫＝ウシジョウチュウ)やユウコウジョウチュウ(有鉤条虫＝ブタジョウチュウ)などの幼虫。エンドウ豆くらいの大きさ。中間宿主であるウシやブタの体内で，前段階の幼虫である六鉤幼虫(鉤球子，オンコスフェラonchosphaeraともいう)が発育･変態したものである。ウシやブタがこれらのジョウチュウの虫卵を摂取すると，小腸内で六鉤幼虫が卵殻を脱出して，腸壁に侵入し，筋肉に移行する。
