Japanese: 練馬 - ねりま
Nerima
One of Tokyo's 23 wards. Located on the Musashino Plateau. Established in 1947 when the southwestern part of Itabashi Ward was separated. Formerly known for its Nerima radishes, the area was a prosperous agricultural region, but today it is almost entirely residential.

〘名〙① 馬を訓練すること。また、訓練された馬。② よく働く馬。※就弓馬儀大概聞書（1464）「ねり馬と申す事、いかにもかせぐ馬を申す也」
