Orthoperiodic acid - Orthoperiodic acid

H ₅ IO ₆ (227.94). As an ^{I Ⅶ} oxo acid, it is more stable than periodic acid HIO _4. Commercially, this substance is called periodic acid, but the IUPAC distinguishes between the two. Melting point is approximately 130 °C. The following equilibrium exists in an aqueous solution of periodic acid:

H ₅ IO ₆ H ⁺ + H ₄ IO ₆ ^- ( K 1×10 ^-3 )

H ₄ IO ₆ ^- IO ₄ ^- + 2H ₂ O( K 29)

H ₄ IO ₆ ^- H ⁺ + H ₃ IO ₆ ^2- ( K 2×10 ^-7 )

In aqueous solutions at 25 °C, IO ₄ ^- is the predominant ion. [CAS 10450-60-9]

H₅IO₆(227.94)．I^Ⅶのオキソ酸としては，過ヨウ素酸HIO₄より安定である．市販品では，この物質を過ヨウ素酸とよぶが，IUPACでは両者を区別している．融点約130 ℃．過ヨウ素酸水溶液中では，次の平衡が成立している．

　　H₅IO₆ H^＋ ＋ H₄IO₆^－(K 1×10^－3)

　　H₄IO₆^－ IO₄^－ ＋ 2H₂O(K 29)

　　H₄IO₆^－ H^＋ ＋ H₃IO₆^2－(K 2×10^－7)

25 ℃ の水溶液ではIO₄^－がおもなイオンである．[CAS 10450-60-9]
