Ratman - Rattenmann

Japanese: ねずみ男 - ねずみおとこ(英語表記)Rattenmann
Ratman - Rattenmann
Another name for a neurotic reported by S. Freud in a paper published in 1909 entitled "Considerations on a Case of Obsessive-Compulsive Neurosis." This case is of great significance in understanding the psychopathology of obsessive-compulsive neurosis. The patient was a single young man, 29 years old at the time, and after hearing from an acquaintance about the "rat punishment," in which a rat is forced into the anus, he was overwhelmed by the fear that his beloved father or girlfriend might be subjected to this punishment. In order to shake off this fear, he began to repeat exorcism-like movements, which led to him receiving treatment from Freud.
