Tan Yan Kǎi (English spelling)

Japanese: 譚延闓 - たんえんがい（英語表記）Tán Yán kǎi

1880‐1930
Chinese politician. Born in Chaling, Hunan Province. His courtesy name was Jian'an. He was a Jinshi in the 30th year of the Guangxu era (1904). He was a constitutionalist leader in Hunan Province at the end of the Qing Dynasty, and as chairman of the Advisory Bureau, he opposed the plan to nationalize the railways, and during the Xinhai Revolution, he competed with the revolutionaries for leadership of Hunan. In 1912, he became Governor of Hunan. In 1915, he opposed Yuan Shikai's imperialist movement, and in 1916, he became Governor of Hunan Province and commander in chief of the military, but was driven out of Hunan and joined the Guangdong military government. In 1924, he became a member of the Kuomintang Central Executive Committee, and in 1925, a member of the Nationalist Government and Chief of the Military Administration Department. During the Northern Expedition in 1926, he was commander of the 2nd Army of the National Revolutionary Army. In 1928, he became Chairman of the Nationalist Government and Premier of the Executive Yuan.

中国の政治家。湖南省茶陵出身。字は組庵。光緒30年(1904)の進士。清末の湖南省の立憲派指導者，諮議局議長として鉄道国有化案に反対し，辛亥革命では革命派と湖南の指導権を争った。1912年湖南都督。15年袁世凱の帝制運動に反対，16年湖南省長兼督軍となるが，湖南を追われ広東軍政府に参加。24年国民党中央執行委員，25年国民政府委員，軍政部長。26年北伐の際は国民革命軍第2軍長。28年国民政府主席，行政院長。
