A typical method of quality control. A batch (lot) of products manufactured under roughly the same conditions is targeted, and some of them are randomly sampled and inspected, and from the results, inferential statistics are applied to determine whether the entire batch passes or fails. It is used in cases where full inspection is not appropriate or where inspection would destroy the products. There is a JIS standard for this. →Random sampling→Related item Lot (statistics) Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
