This refers to a state of consciousness in which a worker feels a sense of unity or loyalty to both management and the labor union at the same time. It is a concept that Odaka Kunio derived from the results of a series of worker consciousness surveys. From the standpoint of viewing the relationship between labor and management as a conflict diagram, workers who are loyal to management are likely to be thought of as having an anti-union mindset, and conversely, workers who are entirely devoted to the union are likely to be critical or antagonistic toward management. However, according to the survey results of Odaka et al., in reality, only a small number of workers on either side feel this way, and the majority of workers show a sense of belonging to both labor and management.

労働者が経営側と労働組合側の双方に，同時に一体感ないし忠誠心を抱いている意識状態をいう。尾高邦雄が一連の労働者意識調査の結果から導きだした概念である。労働と経営の関係を対立図式のなかでみる立場からすれば，経営側に忠誠心をもつ労働者は組合離反の意識をもち，その逆に組合一辺倒の労働者は経営側に対して批判的あるいは対抗的態度の持主だと考えられがちだが，尾高らの調査結果によると，実際にはそのような意識をもつ労働者はどちらもわずかであり，多数を占めるのは労使双方に帰属感を示している労働者である。
