A former town in Nishikasugai County, northwest of Aichi Prefecture. Located in the center of the Nobi Plain, it is served by the Meitetsu Inuyama Line. Suburban agriculture, mainly vegetable production, was once thriving here, but it borders the north of Nagoya City and has become a rapidly residential area. 9.98 km2 . 愛知県北西部，西春日井(にしかすがい)郡の旧町。濃尾平野の中部にあり，名鉄犬山線が通じる。かつては野菜を主とする近郊農業が盛んであったが，名古屋市の北に接し住宅地化が著しい。9.98km2。2006年３月，西春日井郡師勝町と合併し市制，北名古屋市となる。３万3191人（2003）。
