A town in Oki District, Shimane Prefecture, occupying the entire area of Nishinoshima Island in the Oki Islands. The main settlements are Urago and Beppu, which are served by boat from Sakaiminato City and Mihonoseki Town (now Matsue City). Fishing is the main activity, but pasture farming is also practiced.
