…The order of survivors to whom the survivor's pension is paid is (1) spouse (wife or husband) and children, (2) parents, (3) grandchildren, and (4) grandparents. If the first-ranked person acquires the right to receive the pension, the second-ranked person will not be paid, even if the first-ranked person subsequently loses the right to receive the pension. The annual amount of the survivor's pension is based on the salary-proportional pension amount (average standard monthly salary x 7.5/1000 x number of months of insured period x 3/4 x sliding rate), and if the wife is the beneficiary, a middle-aged or elderly widow's allowance or transitional widow's allowance is added to this. In calculating the salary-proportional pension amount, in the case of a short-term survivor's pension (death of an insured person of the Employee's Pension Insurance, death due to injury or illness during the insured period, or death of a beneficiary of a Disability Employee's Pension Insurance), if the insured period of the Employee's Pension Insurance is less than 300 months, it is calculated as 300 months. …
