A warrior of Omi in the Middle Ages. His base was Nishikori-go, Shiga County, Omi Province (now Otsu City, north of Onjo-ji Temple). A descendant of Minamoto no Yoshimitsu of the Seiwa Genji clan. It is said that after the Battle of Zenkunen, Minamoto no Yoriyoshi built a mansion and lived in Nishikori-go, and his son Yoshimitsu also had close ties to Onjo-ji Temple and its surrounding areas, and his descendants became the Yamamoto, Kashiwagi, Nishikori, and Minoura clans. The Nishikori clan is said to have been founded by Yoshihiro, the son of Yoshimitsu's great-grandson Yamamoto Yoshitsune, or Yoshihiro's younger brother Yoshitaka. In 1180 (Jisho 4), Yamamoto Yoshitsune and his son raised an army against the Taira clan in Omi but were defeated, but in 1183 (Juei 2), they joined the army of Minamoto no Yoshinaka and went to Kyoto.
