African Tree Frogs - African Tree Frogs

... Toads are found in wet places such as forests and thickets on flat land, and do not enter water except during the breeding season, but the Japanese stream toad B. torrenticola , the North American Colorado toad B. alvarius , and the Southeast Asian water toad Pseudobufo subasper live in mountain streams. The Southeast Asian tree toad Pedostibes and the West African tree toad Nectophryne also climb trees. During the breeding season, they travel in large groups from their habitat to spawning ponds, over distances of several hundred meters to several kilometers, and in some parts of Europe road signs are erected to protect the toads from being killed.
