Born: September 9, 1828, Catanzaro, Sanbiasse
Died June 13, 1894. Neapolitan politician. Active as a democrat in the Risorgimento movement. Wounded in the defense of the Roman Republic in 1849. In 1857, he attempted an expedition to Sapri with C. Pisacane to liberate southern Italy, but failed and was arrested. Released by G. Garibaldi in 1860, he worked with Garibaldi to liberate Rome and Venice, but after 1870 he became a royalist and was Minister of the Interior twice, from 1876 to 1877 and from 1891 to 1892, implementing authoritarian politics.
