Born on December 5, 1880. Became an assistant professor at her alma mater, Tokyo Women's Higher Normal School (now Ochanomizu University), in 1915, and studied abroad in England the following year. Became a professor at the same school in 1915. In 1916, she founded the Nikaido Gymnastics School (the precursor to Japan Women's College of Physical Education), and worked to train women's physical education instructors. Died on July 17, 1941.
