German philosopher and pedagogue. One of the representatives of the Marburg School of the Neo-Kantian School. Born in Dusseldorf, he later became a professor at the University of Marburg. Following the ideas of Hermann Cohen, he developed his philosophy from a critical standpoint in connection with moral science. Academics are not facts but are becomings, and therefore are not static but evolving. In other words, he argued that the innate categories that form the core of academics are also becomings and evolving, and that academics are nothing other than a system of such categories. The formation of this philosophy was largely influenced by Kant, as well as Fichte and Hegel. Natorp is also known for providing a philosophical foundation for the modern pedagogy pioneered by Herbart. His books include "Social Education" (1898), "The Logical Foundations of Exact Science" (1910), and "A General Theory of Psychology Based on the Critical Method" (1912).
