A large eagle (illustration) of the Accipitridae family, said to be the king of birds. Its overall length is over 90 cm, and its wingspan can reach 210 cm. It is found throughout most of Eurasia, North Africa, and North America, with those in the north migrating. It is a typical mountain eagle, living in mountainous areas with few trees. Each pair has a wide home range, sometimes reaching up to 40 km2. Its entire body is dark brown, but the area from the back of the head to the back of the neck is yellowish brown, and depending on the light it shines golden. This is where its English name comes from. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
