A short story by Hara Tamiki. Published in Mita Bungaku in 1947. Hara Tamiki, who was a victim of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, defines himself as "a new human being who has fallen to this earth after the blow of the atomic bomb," and through the eyes of a "new human being," he portrays the true figures of those who died in unspeakable misery, crying out in agony, "Water, water, water, please... Ah... Mother... Sister... Mitsu-chan." However, the poet's eyes, who continued to stare intently at death while depicting the hell of this world, are tranquilly clear and clear, and cannot help but evoke deep emotions, as they overlap with his eulogy for the souls of his late wife and the dead of Hiroshima.

原民喜の短編小説。1947年《三田文学》に発表。1945年8月6日広島で原爆を被災した原民喜は，自分は〈原子爆弾の一撃からこの地上に新しく墜落してきた人間〉であると規定し，〈新しい人間〉の眼で，言語に絶する悲惨のなか，〈水を，水を，水を下さい，……ああ……お母さん……姉さん……光ちゃん〉と苦悶の声を発しつつ死んでいった人たちのありのままの姿をえがいた。しかし現世の地獄をえがきながら，ひたすら死をみつめつづけた詩人の眼は，亡き妻と広島の死者への鎮魂の賦が重なって静謐に澄み透っており，深い感動を呼びおこさずにはおかない。
