Year of death: July 17, 1600 (August 25, 1600) Year of birth: Year of birth unknown. A military commander in the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Son of Kazumasa. Commonly known as Magoheiji. One of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's personal retainers, in 1573 he was given 200 koku in Nagahama, Omi. In 1573 he became the lord of Kishiwada Castle in Izumi, and the following year he was appointed Junior Fifth Rank and Shikibu Shoyu. In the same year he was given 60,000 koku in Omi and Iga, and became the lord of Minakuchi Castle in Omi. In 1585 he participated in the siege of Yamanaka Castle during the siege of Odawara, and after the battle he became the lord of Sunpu Castle with 145,000 koku. He was one of Toyotomi Hidetsugu's elders, but was not implicated in Hidetsugu's downfall. He was on the eastern side of the Battle of Sekigahara when he suddenly fell ill and died.
