A poet from the Fujiwara-kyo period during the second period of the Manyoshu (after the Jinshin War to when the capital was moved to Nara). Dates of birth and death unknown. His surname was Naganoimiki, and he may have been of immigrant descent. His given name is also written as Okumaro. He was active at the same time as Kakinomoto no Hitomaro, and left behind 14 tanka poems. He accompanied Kakinomoto no Hitomaro on his imperial visit to Naniwa, which is thought to have been in 699 (Monmu 3), and wrote poems in response to the imperial decree. He also accompanied Kakinomoto no Hitomaro on his imperial visit to Kii Province (Emperor Jito and Emperor Mommu) in 701 (Taiho 1), and on his imperial visit to Mikawa Province (Emperor Jito) the following year, leaving behind works. Including these, he has six travel poems. The other eight poems were all poems in response to requests from the congregation at banquets and other events, and he excelled at composing poems that incorporate several different things or humorous poems in an improvised, acrobatic manner. 《万葉集》第2期(壬申の乱後~奈良遷都),藤原京時代の歌人。生没年不詳。姓(かばね)は長忌寸(ながのいみき)で渡来系か。名は奥麻呂とも記す。柿本人麻呂と同時代に活躍,短歌のみ14首を残す。699年(文武3)のおりと思われる難波行幸に従い,詔にこたえる歌を作り,701年(大宝1)の紀伊国行幸(持統上皇・文武天皇),翌年の三河国行幸(持統上皇)にも従って作品を残す。これらを含めて旅の歌6首がある。ほかの8首はすべて宴席などで会衆の要望にこたえた歌で,数種のものを詠み込む歌や滑稽な歌などを即妙に曲芸的に作るのを得意とする。
