Nagano clan

Japanese: 長野氏 - ながのうじ
Nagano clan
A local lord of Ise Province during the Northern and Southern Courts and Warring States periods. A servant of the Muromachi Shogunate. The ruins of Nagano Castle are located in Misato Village, Aki County, where they were based. They are said to have descended from Kudo Suketsune, but this is unclear. The time and person who traveled to Ise are also unknown, but the name of Ise Province resident Nagano Kudo Saburozaemon-no-jo appears in the Baisho-ron in 1336 (Engen 1, Kenmu 3). The Taiheiki records the Nagano Fly Sweep Rebellion, and in 1380 (Tenju 6, Koryaku 2), they fought against the Toki clan on the side of the Southern Court. In 1428 (Shocho 1) when Kitabatake Mitsumasa raised his army, they fought on the Shogunate side, and were given Ichi County, the former territory of the Kitabatake clan, and the site of the Seki clan, but in 1444 (Bun'an 1), they came into conflict with the Seki clan over the site of the Seki clan, and for over a century thereafter, they repeatedly fought against the Kitabatake and Seki clans.
