1853‐1912 Czech poet and playwright active in the late 19th century. Her real name was Emil Frída. She also wrote numerous works of theater criticism and translations. In addition to her contribution to enriching the form of Czech literature through her translations of French and Italian literature, she is known as the author of Karelstein's Night (1885), a work that is still often performed today.
