...A small mammal of the family Vespertilionidae that lives in human homes in East Asia (illustration). It is also known as the house bat, red long-eared bat, and aphid bat. It is found in China, the Korean peninsula, and Taiwan outside of Japan, and in Japan from Honshu to Amami Oshima and the Ryukyu Islands.
