Inner seal - Naiin
〘Noun〙 The Emperor's seal. It is three inches (about nine centimeters) square and has the inscription "Emperor's Seal." The Shonagon and the Chief of the Ministry of Central Affairs were in charge of it, and it was stamped on rank certificates of those of fifth rank or above, as well as official documents issued to various provinces. It is said to be the opposite of a Gein ( = Seal of the Dajokan). ※Shoku Nihongi - Wadou 5th year (712), December 1st, Dingshi "Reported to the authorities. From now on. There has been an error in the official document. The internal seal has been written. The matter needs to be revised . The Shonagon should report it to the Chief of the Ministry . Later, a further report was made to the authorities ."
