Cellulitis - phlegmon

Japanese: 蜂巣炎 - ほうそうえん（英語表記）phlegmon

Also called cellulitis, phlegmon, or phlegmon. It is an acute suppurative inflammation that occurs in areas with low tissue density (subcutaneous tissue, between muscles, neck, etc.), and is mainly caused by staphylococci or streptococci. A typical example is subcutaneous cellulitis, which occurs when bacteria enter through an insect bite. The local area shows redness with an unclear border, swelling, and edema, and there is a strong feeling of heat and tenderness. The inflammation progresses rapidly, and the pain becomes throbbing, and a high fever accompanied by chills and shivers appears. If it progresses further, the local area softens and an abscess forms.

蜂巣織炎，蜂窠（ほうか）織炎，フレグモーネともいう。組織の密度が粗な部分(皮下組織，筋肉と筋肉の間，頸部など)に起こる急性の化膿性炎症で，主としてブドウ球菌や連鎖球菌が原因菌となる。代表的なものに，虫さされの傷から細菌が侵入して起こる皮下蜂巣炎がある。局所には境界不鮮明な発赤とはれ，むくみが起こり，熱感と圧痛が著しい。炎症は急速に進行し，疼痛は拍動性で，悪寒や震えを伴った高熱が出現する。さらに進むと，局所は軟化して膿瘍を形成する。
