A medieval samurai family whose main territory was Inage-sho in Tachibana County, Musashi Province. A branch of the Kanmu Heishi clan, the Chichibu clan. It began when Shigenari, the third son of Oyamada Ariyoshi, ruled Inage-sho and called himself Inage Saburo. Shigenari followed Minamoto no Yoritomo from the beginning of his uprising, and became a powerful vassal through his military achievements. However, he was also a very devoted husband, and when his wife died of illness, he could not bear the grief of their separation and became a monk, spending a huge amount of money to build a bridge over the Sagami River for her memorial service. However, because his wife was the daughter of Hojo Tokimasa, he was caught up in a plot by Tokimasa and his wife, Maki no Kata, and in 1205 (Genkyu 2), he was forced to help destroy the Hatakeyama clan, a clan of his own clan, and was executed along with his son Ozawa Shigemasa, for being branded as the central figure in the plot.
