...Neometabolism is seen in the Hemiptera (Homoptera) and Thysanoptera (Thysanoptera) and forms a pseudopupa. There are many special types of metamorphosis, such as scale insects, where the wing primordia appear for the first time in the final instar, called homometabolism, thrips, where the immobile seminymphs turn into nymphs with wing primordia appearing on the outside, and then the adult, called remetabolism, where the non-feeding nymph stage is just before the adult stage (parametabolism in the male Coccidae family), and the adult emerges from the wingless final instar larvae, called heterometabolism (Hemiptera, Aleyrodidae). In the Termitidae family of the order Isoptera, the metamorphosis is extremely confusing. In Kalotermes , after hatching, they repeatedly molt and then develop into pseudo-workers (larvae), which may molt from prosoldiers to soldiers, or from first instar nymphs to second instar nymphs to winged adults. In addition, second instar nymphs may molt into first instar nymphs, and first instar nymphs may molt into pseudo-workers, and then revert to their original form. There is no unified name for the metamorphosis.
