He is the author of the haiku "When I wake up I look, when I sleep I look, how spacious is the mosquito net," which was said to be a haiku by Kaga Chiyo. This haiku appears in "Sono Tayori," a book selected by Wada Dosaku and published in 1694. The same book also contains the haiku "I wonder if the Milky Way is covered by the magpies."
