Drill (English spelling) drill

Japanese: ドリル(英語表記)drill
Drill (English spelling) drill
Also called a drill. A cutting tool used to make holes in workpieces. It is usually attached to a drill press and rotated while being pressed to make holes. Various types are manufactured depending on the material, shape, and dimensions of the workpiece, but they can be broadly categorized as twist drills, flat drills, and special drills. Twist drills are the most common, and this type is what is simply referred to as a drill. This drill consists of a body and a shank, and the body has multiple twist flutes and a pair of cutting edges (tip). The twist flutes serve as a passage for discharging chips. Drill materials used are carbon tool steel, alloy tool steel, high-speed steel, and cemented carbide, but high-speed steel is widely used due to its cutting ability and lifespan.
