Activity analysis

Japanese: アクティビティ･アナリシス（英語表記）activity analysis

It is translated as "activity analysis." When analyzing production activities, economics has traditionally used the production function as a key concept. The production function is a quantitative relationship between the output of a product and the input of production factors such as capital, labor, and raw materials, and it is said that production technology determines this relationship from the background. However, the technology referred to here is a very abstract concept, and its connection to actual production technology has not always been clear. Activity analysis is an attempt in mathematical economics to abstract the characteristics of actual engineering production technology as faithfully as possible, and then use it as a key concept to re-envision production analysis in an operable form.

〈活動分析〉と訳される。生産活動を分析する場合，経済学では伝統的に生産関数が鍵概念として利用されてきた。生産関数は，生産物の産出量と資本･労働･原材料などの生産要素の投入量とを数量的に関連づける関係であるが，この関係を背後から規定するのは生産技術であるとされる。しかし，ここにいう技術はごく抽象的な概念であって，現実の生産技術との結びつきは，必ずしも明りょうではなかった。アクティビティ･アナリシスは，現実の工学的生産技術のもつ特徴をできるかぎり忠実に抽象化したうえで，それを鍵概念として生産分析を操作可能な形式で再構想しようという，数理経済学上の試みである。
