A Buddhist cosmology written in Thai by King Lithai of the Sukhothai dynasty in 1345 when he was still a prince. Known as The Treatise on the Three Realms or The Sutra of King Luang, the three realms refer to the Buddhist realms of desire, form, and formlessness. Its contents were widely known through temple murals and proverbs, and it formed the core of Buddhist knowledge among the Thai people until the end of the 19th century, but its influence was lost with the spread of modern Buddhist education. The current text was reconstructed by comparing two manuscripts produced at the end of the 18th century with fragments of manuscripts from the Ayutthaya period.
